The only downside the actual lodge was the size of the third bedroom, as we had 6 adults in the party it was slightly small but it was only for sleeping so we managed as everything else was great. The park area was well kept and nice to walk the dog with a bridlepath right outside the area for a quick walk with the dog. Pub up the road was great and easy walk and having the fish and chip van on a Saturday was great.

One thing that I wouldn’t expect for this price, is although the lodge was generally quite clean, the floor was not very clean. We asked a few months back for our lodge, a hazel 3, to be away from the road as last time we did notice the noise in the early hours. We were given a lodge at the opposite end which was more secluded and directly by the trees, which was lovely but did mean we had constant bird poop and leaves on the deck. I think I would rather have road noise next time! Due to Covid we were made aware check in and check out times were later and earlier, although we were called to advise the lodge was ready earlier than 5pm.

The 9am check out is too early and did result in us leaving things behind, like cereal, as we were rushing. I phoned the morning we left just to double check a few things as due to Covid I heard some appliances may not be available.

On arrival the team were fantastic, supported us with having a Tesla which required use of the onsite EV charger and allowed us to save a space by the charger with cones, only once were these cones moved by someone when we had tried to hold the space. The sofas, bathrooms etc were great. Would we stay again? Absolutely, though not at the prices currently advertised for the same week next year. But I would caution that some important cleaning bits will be missed and that you need to double check about what appliances may or not be available.
